• Srinagar Airport to be Closed for Maintenance

  Srinagar Airport will remain closed for 12 days from September 3- 14, 2010 due to the maintenance work. During the 12 day closure period, all airlines will continue uninterrupted services to the Kashmir valley through Avantipur Airport, which is located on the outskirts of Srinagar. Once the Srinagar Airport re-opens, the flight operations will shift back to the airport.




• GoAir adds more Routes to its Network

  GoAir has recently added Patna, Pune, Leh and Lucknow and two new A320’s to its network. The services on the new aircrafts and Patna will be effective from September 2, 2010 and for the other three destinations- Pune, Lucknow and Leh from October 2, 2010. Through this, GoAir aims to expand and strengthen its network and provide a convenient, quick, safe and timely travel. The airline will now have daily nonstop flight between Delhi and the four new destinations.




• Air Seychelles to include Chennai on Mahe - Singapore route

  Air Seychelles is all set to add Chennai as a stopover on its Mahe-Singapore route from November 1, 2010. The flight will depart from Mahé and stopover in Chennai, before going on to Singapore and then depart from Singapore and return to Mahé, again via Chennai. Due to the increased number of arrivals from the Indian subcontinent and demand from the Indian community, Air Seychelles, has decided to provide a direct air-link to India through Chennai.




• Qatar Airways to step up Flights from Delhi, Amritsar and Kochi from Sept 1, 2010

  Qatar Airways will increase frequencies from Delhi, Amritsar and Kochi from September 1, 2010. The addition of 14 flights a week from the three Indian cities by Qatar Airways will increase the services between India and its Doha hub to 88 flights a week. From September, Amritsar flights will increase from four-a-week to a daily service and Kochi will get an additional four-flights-a-week. The increased and enhanced frequency from India will provide good connectivity to any other place in the world via Doha.




• Hyderabad: Tourist Information and Reservation Centre Inaugurated

  The Union Minister of Tourism, Kumari Selja, recently inaugurated a 24/7 Tourist Information cum Reservation Centre at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad. Tourists will now be able to book reservations in hotels and resorts through the Information cum Reservation Centre.




• Air India introduces Special Fares for this Monsoon

  Air India has recently introduced Monsoon Special Fare for its passengers flying on domestic routes. Travellers who pay for the Economy Class ticket will be allowed to travel in the Executive Class or else they get a free ticket for their companion to travel in the Economy class with them. Passengers who pay for the Executive class ticket will get a free ticket for their companion to travel in the same class. Air India has also introduced a new rainbow super saver ticket in which four coupons of Economy Class ticket can be issued for travel on all domestic sectors on AI / IC Coded flights. The Monsoon Special fare will be valid till September 30, 2010




• Royal Rajasthan on Wheels to start from September 5, 2010

  The luxury Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is all set to start its first commercial tour this year from September 5, 2010. The train has a capacity of carrying 50 passengers onboard and will commence its journey from Safdarjung station in New Delhi and will take its passengers to Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra. Modern amenities like spa and gym have also been introduced to the train.
