Eating Out in Ecuador

Unusual jungle fruits, chirimoya, mamey and pepinos, are a must have. If you are a non-vegetarian try the national delicacy of baked guinea pig. Restaurants have waiter service, so sit back and enjoy the local llapingachos, ceviche, locro and humitas. Ecuadorian beer is one of the best in South America. International liquor is available but is expensive.

Nightlife is more or less non-existent except in Quito and Guayaquil where there are good restaurants. Entertainment in smaller towns takes place in the home or in private clubs. Drinks cannot be sold after 0200 hours.

Live life to the fullest. Make a list of ‘ things to do before I die’ and tick ...
