Driving Direction from Chennai to Tirupati

Distance: 135 km
Driving Time: 3.00 hours

Before starting from Chennai to Tirupati make sure to stock up with some light snacks and water as you might not spot good eateries on your way.
Drive out of Chennai by taking Erukkancheri High Road and keep driving for about 7 kms and take the second exit from the roundabout to get onto NH 5.
Move ahead on NH 5 and look for sign boards to get onto NH 16, drive for next 15 kms and turn left onto Tirupathi Road and follow the sign boards to stay on this stretch for about 72 kms, you will pass by Sidhi Vinayagar Temple, Surutapalli Siva Temple, and Government Hospital, respectively on this route.
On approaching Puttur, turn right onto NH 716/Chennai - Tiruttani - Renigunta Highway, and continue for next 22 kms, on your way you may halt at Hotel Kasi on this route, try some nice vegetarian meal and use clean washrooms.
Look for sign boards and drive on to take a left at SH 61 to drive for 9 km and follow the sign boards to get onto Old Tiruchanoor Road, which will lead you to your destination – Tirupati.
  

Driving Direction from Bengaluru (Bangalore) to Tirupati

Distance: 247 km
Driving Time: 6.00 hours

Get onto Old Madras Road from Bangalore and head towards NH 4, there is a big petrol pump on the way - fill up your tank for the journey ahead.
Continue on this road for about 65 kms, passing by Hosakote, till you reach Kolar.
There is Cafe Coffee Day on the way, to stop over for snacks or you may also halt at Kamath Restaurant, a decent eating place in Kolar.
Continue driving on NH 4 and from Mulbagal, continue straight onto NH 69 for next 77 km till you arrive at Chittoor.
You can stop at Chittoor for a wholesome South Indian meal at the Udupi Bharat Restaurant on Gandhi Road and freshen up here.
Hit the road again, and take a left to get onto NH 40, go straight for 23 kms, and turn right onto Chittoor - Tirupati Road.
Continue on this stretch for next 34 kms before the road becomes Chennai - Anantpur Road.
Drive on for another 10 km and the road will merge into NH 71, drive for a short distance till you reach your destination - Tirupati.
