History of New Delhi

Considering the fact that New Delhi was ruled by some of the influential emperors of the Indian history, the city boasts of rich colourful history. Rising from the ruins of the seven historical cities to a thriving national capital of today, New Delhi has witness lots of political turmoil since its inception as a city. According to the history, it was initially known as Indraprastha, the city of Pandavas and was just a barren piece of land before they converted it into a magnificent city. Then with the invasion of neighbouring regions by various emperors and kings few other cities like Lal Kot, Siri Dinpanah, Quila Rai Pithora, Ferozabad, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, and Shahjahanabad came up until one day when they all merged into one city – New Delhi, the national capital of today.
