Festivals and Events in New Delhi

The city is a hub to lots of culture and faith and hence there are various festivals and events in New Delhi that its residents celebrate with much fanfare and gusto.

The city celebrates the usual festivals like Lohri, which is celebrated on 13th January by the Punjabis and the Sikhs of the Delhi. The festival marks the end of winter and signals the coming of spring.

Holi, the festival of colour is celebrated either in late February or early March with great funfair, Mango festival which is held at Talkatora stadium in July is a widely attended festival, Raksha Bhandhan or Rakhi as it is known popularly, is another festival celebrated among the Punjabis of Delhi in August.

The popular India International Trade Fair is held in November which is again a widely attended affair with participants coming from different states of the country.
