History of Bhuj

The history of Bhuj goes back to the period of Naga Chieftain and has experienced the social upcoming of the Indus Valley Civilization. It also has an acocunt of the exile period of Pandavas and political invasion of Alexander the Great. Bhuj was established in 1510 by Rao Hamirji. It was made the state capital by Rao Khengarji I in 1549.
