Getting Around in Gujarat

Flights, trains, buses, rental vehicles and long distance cabs provide many options for travel within the state. Air links are available to cities with airports like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Kandla, Bhavnagar and Junagadh. The state roadways buses and coaches run by private operators travel to the deepest parts of the state including the remote desert villages of the Rann of Kutch. Trains cover most destinations but travellers to the interior districts may need to tranship to buses after reaching the nearest railhead, though by and large, most parts of the state have rail lines.

Inner city travel is best by auto rickshaws, city bus service and taxis (where available). Car rental companies will be available in the bigger towns and cities but travel agents do provide chauffeur driven hired vehicles for the smaller places.
