Patan Travel Guide

The land of beautiful Patola saris, rich heritage and traditional Gujarati architecture, Patan is an ancient fortified city that is located on the banks of River Saraswati. The town has several lanes and by-lanes known as Pols. These Pols are captivating places featuring splendid Gujarati architecture that have withstood the test of time. So come and explore the rustic charms of this place and lose yourself in its mesmerising rural appeal.

Remember those beautiful Patola saris your mom used to wear? Well Patan is the place where the beautiful Patola saris are woven and interestingly it takes four to six months to weave one single sari. Unfortunately, these master craftsmen are a dying breed and currently there is only one family in Patan who is still weaving these beautiful saris.
