Driving Direction from Chandigarh to Chail

Distance: 106 km
Driving Time: 3.00 hours

Drive out of Chandigarh via Madhya Marg, take a left, after about 9 kms and get onto National Highway 22/NH 22.
On NH 22 you will pass by a petrol pump on your left at Pinjaur, drive on for another 7 kms and you will reach Soorajpur Bus Stop, on your left hand side, keep driving for another 3 kms and look for a sign board to take a slight right onto Bypass road to get onto NH 5.
Drive straight on NH 5 for about 5 kms and you will pass by Chakki Modh on your right, from here, continue driving straight for around 19 kms and then take a right to get back on NH 22.
Follow the sign boards and make sure to stick on NH 22, drive for approximately 10 kms and you will pass by Solan, stop at Solan for refreshments.
At Solan you can grab quick bite at Cafe 7, Paragon and Himalayan Coffee House that offers delicious food.
From Solan, head back on NH 22 and follow the sign boards to stay on this highway and you will pass by Pine Grove on your left, keep driving straight for about 10 kms and turn left at Mandir Road.
Drive ahead for 22 kms and take a sharp right onto MDR 8, follow the direction boards to stay on MDR 8 and you will reach Chail in a short while.

Driving Direction from Delhi to Chail

Distance: 346 km
Driving Time: 7.00 hours

When driving from Delhi to Chail, take the GT Road to drive out of Delhi, and then head towards NH 1.
As you pass by Indian Oil Petrol Pump on NH 1, fill up your car tank for the journey ahead; you can also stop for food and refreshments at the Zhilmil Dhaba near Murthal and indulge in some of their specialties such as, stuffed tandoori paranthas and lassi.
If you wish to savour continental food, then the Oasis Resorts is a good option – both these places have clean washrooms.
Moving ahead on the road, the Punjabi Dhaba near Karnal is a good place to halt at.
For those who are in the mood for a small detour can stop at the Karni Lake, which is off the highway behind McDonalds, and serves as an ideal picnic spot with boating facilities too.
As you exit NH 1, keep a lookout for a sign board and take a slight left onto NH 22, near Ambala.
You can make a detour at Ambala to visit the Ambala airfield, where there is a memorial for the soldiers who lost their lives in war.
To head towards Chail, continue driving along NH 22 for next 53 km and you will come close to passing by Chandigarh which is also a good choice for a detour.
If you don’t wish to make that detour, drive straight through on NH 22 for about 10 km and you will pass by Chakki Modh.
From here, turn right to continue on the same road for another 24 km and you will pass by JP Motors.
Drive on for 12 km and take a right turn at the Solan Bypass Chowk, from where you need to turn left to get onto Mandir Road.
Continue for about 22 km to get onto MDR 8, drive straight on this road for 2 km and you will reach Chail.
