Festivals and Events in Chail

Dussehra, Diwali and Holi are the three main festivals in Chail that are celebrated with much fanfare and gusto.

Baisakhi, considered the primary festival in Chail, is celebrated around mid-April, to mark the beginning of the harvest season. Locally, Baisakhi is also known as Bissu.

During the month of July, the Rhyali festival that marks the onset of monsoon is celebrated basically to appease the Rain Gods.

Apart from common festivals like Diwali, Lohri and Navratri, various fairs are conducted all round the year. In November, a three-day Bhoj Fair is celebrated to honour Lord Bansor. The fair attracts huge crowds from different parts of the country. Lavi fair is another fair that is celebrated in November.

A number of cultural shows are organised to promote small scale business and trade.
