Sanawar is located at a distance of 6 km from the picturesque Kasauli. Sanawar is located at an altitude of 1750 metres. It is one of the most popular destinations for tourists. Sanawar houses one of India’s best schools, The Lawrence School on its hills. Lawrence School was founded by Sir Henry M. Lawrence and his wife Honoria more than a century and half back. The school was initially started with only 14 boys and girls and later on was bestowed with the Kings Colours award by British Empire. This is an honour that was bestowed upon only six schools across the world by the British Empire.

The school chirps with color and vibrancy in the first week of October when school celebrates its Founder’s Day. The entire atmosphere is filled with energy and excitement making Sanawar a lively place. Other than that, one can relax and enjoy in the beautiful campus of Lawrence School. The campus is laden with pine, deodar and other conifer trees which make it look beautiful and breathtaking. One can see the majestic colonial building which is centuries old inside the campus. The school also houses a chapel for daily prayers.
