Driving Direction to Manali

Driving Direction from Chandigarh to Manali

Distance: 293 km
Driving Time: 7.00 hours

Drive out of Chandigarh through Chandigarh Baddi Road, continue driving straight onto this road for 13 kms and turn left onto NH 21A, drive for about 50 kms and take a sharp right onto NH 21.
On NH 21 you will pass by Hill Top Hotel, halt here for lunch and refreshments, hit the road again and drive on for about 30 kms and take a left on NH 154.
After 4 kms, continue onto NH 21 and follow the sign boards to stay on this highway, you will pass by a petrol pump on your right.
Continue driving on NH 21 for around 60 kms, via Sundernagar and Ner Chowk, respectively, in between you will pass by Bharat Petroleum, where you may stop to refuel your car tank.
Keep going straight on NH 21to follow NH 154 and follow the sign boards to stay on NH 154/ NH3, drive for 30 kms and on approaching Mandi, you will pass by Hanogi Mata Temple.
You can also have a lunch break at the any of the dhabas lined on the roadside near Hanogi Mata Temple.
From the temple, drive on for another 30 kms on this route, and turn left onto NH 21/ NH3, continue driving straight for 75 kms and you will pass by Bhunter, Kullu, and Patlikuhl, from here drive for a short while to reach Manali.
  

Driving Direction from Delhi to Manali

Distance: 546 km
Driving Time: 11.00 hours

When driving from Delhi to Manali, take the GT Road to drive out of Delhi, and then head towards NH 1.
As you pass by Indian Oil Petrol Pump on NH 1, fill up your car tank for the journey ahead; you can also stop for food and refreshments at the Zhilmil Dhaba near Murthal and indulge in some of their specialties such as, stuffed tandoori paranthas and lassi.
If you wish to savour continental food, then the Oasis Resorts is a good option – both these places have clean washrooms.
Moving ahead on the road, the Punjabi Dhaba near Karnal is a good place to halt at.
For those who are in the mood for a small detour can stop at the Karni Lake, which is off the highway behind McDonalds, and serves as an ideal picnic spot with boating facilities too.
As you exit NH 1, keep a lookout for a sign board and take a slight left onto NH 22, near Ambala.
You can make a detour at Ambala to visit the Ambala airfield, where there is a memorial for the soldiers who lost their lives in war.
Hit the road again to continue on NH 22 and as you come close to Chandigarh, you can either make a stopover for the night, or drive straight through on Chandigarh Baddi Road.
Keep going straight on this road for 13 km and turn left onto NH 21A; drive for about 50 km and take a sharp right onto NH 21.
On the highway, you will pass by Hill Top Hotel – halt here for lunch and refreshments.
Hit the road again and drive for about 30 km before you take a left on NH 154.
Drive for 4 km to get back onto NH 21 and continue driving for around 60 km, via Sundernagar and Ner Chowk, respectively – you will pass by Bharat Petroleum on the way.
Keep heading straight on this road to follow NH 154; follow the sign boards to stay on NH 154/ NH3.
On approaching Mandi after 30 km, you will pass by Hanogi Mata Temple – stop by to offer prayers to the goddess; you can also have a lunch break at the any of the dhabas lined on the roadside.
From the temple, drive for next 30 km on this route before you turn left onto NH 21/ NH3.
Continue driving straight on this 75 km long stretch, passing by Bhunter, Kullu, and Patlikuhl, to finally arrive at your destination – Manali.
