A 3km short journey from Manali with take you to a small town of Vashisht situated across the River Beas. It is the abode of revitalizing sulphur springs which not only relieves your weary body but also has varied therapeutic values.

The Vashisht hot waters springs are said to cure many skin diseases. Many people go to the Vashisht baths to take a dip and rid themselves of skin infections and diseases. There are separate baths for both men and women. The baths are fitted with Turkish style showers. These baths are close to the hot water spring so that hot and cold water can be separately piped.

Vashisht also houses some of the most famous temples in its vicinity. The place is a refreshing destination which allows you to indulge in exotic baths with the striking backdrop of the Himalayan beauty.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit the Vashisht Springs and take a dip her are in the summer months between March and October. One can also take a dip in the winter, and even though the water is hot, it is very cold otherwise.


Legend has it that Rishi Vashisht, upon hearing that his children had been killed by Vishvamitra, attempted suicide by jumping in the river. But the river carried him to Vashisht village. The river here was called Vipasha meaning freedom from burden. Today the river is known as the Beas.


The timings for enjoying the rejuvenating Vashisht baths are from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
