Eating Out in Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley is popular for serving appetising Ladakhi dishes, Kashmiri cuisine and confectionery items. While eating out in Nubra Valley, do make it a point to visit a restaurant or dhaba serving Ladakhi food. The popular dishes include Sku, a soup made with vegetables, mutton and flour; Sattu (ground gram powder) Pava and Khambir, a type of local bread.

Kashmiri dishes commonly served as part of a grand feast or Wazawan are Roghan Josh or mutton stew, Yakhni (fried ribs), Goshtaba (fried meat balls), Rista (rice balls with meat) and Marchwangan Korma (hot mutton curry served with rice and naan).

There are also a number of bakeries that sell bread and delicious jams made from apricots and apples.
