How to Reach Bandipur National Park by Air Bandipur is accessible by air from Bangalore (220 km). There are bus services from the airport to Bandipur. Taxis are available for hire too.

How to Reach Bandipur National Park by Rail Bandipur’s nearest major railhead is Mysore, 80 km away. Nanjungud railway station which is 5 km away has a few trains servicing it. There are bus and taxi services from the railway stations to the sanctuary.

How to Reach Bandipur National Park by Bus Bandipur is well connected by roads. You can drive here or take a taxi or bus service from Bangalore (220 km) via Mysore (80 km). If you are driving, from Mysore take the NH-212 towards Gundulpet, the town nearest to Bandipur National Park. Just before you get to Gundulpet, turn off onto the NH-66 towards Bandipur.

Getting Around Bandipur National Park Within the Bandipur National Park, you are spoiled for choices as you can choose to go around in open jeeps or take a van safari or the much sought-after elephant safari. The Bandipur van safari operates between 6.30-9.00 AM in the mornings and 3.30 -6.00 PM in the evenings and is a 30 minute drive in a 25 seater van. A maximum of six people are accommodated in the jeep safari which makes two trips in the morning and evening. In the morning, the first trip is from 6.30-8.00 AM and the second from 8.00- 9.30 AM. The evening jeep safaris are available from 3.30- 5.00 PM and again, 5.00 - 6.30PM. The popular elephant back safaris are on a first come first serve basis so make sure you are in time or you will be disappointed.
