Nathdwara Travel Guide

Royally located on the serene banks of Banas River, Nathdwara is a small temple town in the colourful state of Rajasthan. Popular for its 17th century Shrinathji Temple (a child incarnation of Lord Krishna) and the unique art of Pichwai paintings – Nathdwara essentially means “gate of the Lord” or “doorway to the Lord.” Situated at a distance of 48kms from Udaipur, Nathdwara is an important pilgrimage town of Hindus and Vaishnavas.

Interestingly the temple of Shrinathji is known as Shrinathji Haveli as the edifice resembles a small palace which in Hindi is known as haveli.

Remember that photography is not allowed in the main temple premises.
