History
Five kilometers from Mathura is the very popular and well- visited Gita Mandir. Built by Birla, one of the leading industrial powers in India, this Mandir (temple) has breathtaking architecture accompanied with beautiful carvings and paintings that add to the beauty of this temple.
The sanctum of the Mandir houses a stunning image of Lord Krishna. Devotees from all over the world visit this temple to pay homage to Lord Krishna and admire the splendor of this grand temple. The Mandir also features the Gita Stambh and is extensively decorated on the auspicious occasion of Janmasthami and Holi.
Halfway between Vrindavan and Mathura, on the main Vrindavana to Mathura Road, this temple is easily accessible. You can a private taxis or can also travel in a bus and private coach that carry passengers to Gita Mandir. You can buy flowers, sweets and other commodities required for the pooja from the small shops that surround the Gita Mandir.

Best time to visit
Although the morning time during the aarti is preferable to visit the temple, one can visit the Mandir during any time of the year and day. The best time to visit the Mandir is during the festival of Holi and Janmashtmi when the temple celebrates the festivities.
