Driving Direction from Delhi to Almora

Distance: 338 km
Driving Time: 8.00 hours

The best route to drive on from Delhi to Almora is NH 24.
Head out of Delhi by taking the Noida Link Road and continue towards NH 24 (Hapur Road); fuel up your car from the petrol pump on NH 24 and drive on for 40 km.
Just before Hapur, take the Hapur Bypass and drive on for next 14 km.
Stop for a wholesome meal and to freshen up at the Bhajan Dhaba in Garmukhteshwar – do try the lip-smacking aloo paranthas here! You may also take a small detour to Garmukhteshwar Temple and Brij Ghat.
Continue on NH 24 followed by Ganga Bridge, soon you will pass by BP petrol pump on your left – in case you are running low on fuel, you can stop here for tanking up your vehicle.
Keep driving and as you approach Moradabad city, you will soon start spotting some eateries and restaurants along NH 24, such as Lovena restaurant, Temptation restaurant and many more.
From Moradabad, take a slight left to get onto MDR 65W, where you will find some really good and hygienic eating spots.
If you wish to eat some freshly prepared mouth-watering breakfast, then you must stop by Guptaji Rotiwale, and do not forget to savour the Dal Makhani served here.
Continue driving on this stretch for 100 km and then take a sharp left towards the Mall road, which ascends all the way up to Nainital with sharp turns at hairpin bends, so drive slowly.
The road is full of eateries and food stalls, with Nanak Restaurant, Woodpecker food plaza, and Crossing Café and Restro being the popular places to stop at for refreshments.
Moving on, get onto NH 87 from Nainital and follow the sign boards to stay on the road for next 28 km, passing by Bhowali Sanitorium and Kainchi Dham, respectively.
Take a slight right; this brings you onto SH 37 followed by a drive of another 32 km, till you arrive at your destination – Almora.
  

Driving Direction from Chandigarh to Almora

Distance: 490 km
Driving Time: 10.00 hours

Driving out of Chandigarh, get onto Dakshin Marg and move towards NH 22, halt and tank up your vehicle at the petrol pump on the way, drive for about 20 kms, take a slight left onto Dera Basi to NH 73.
Drive for another 15 kms and turn right to get onto SH 1, continue on this road for next 68 kms till you reach Jagadhri, after reaching Chowk Bazaar, take a right turn to stay on NH 73A, take another left from Matka Chowk and follow the direction boards to stay on this highway.
On your way you will pass by Vaishali Service Station, refuel your car tank, if needed and at Saharanpur you may stop to grab a quick bite at the Gurunank Dhaba, restart your journey after break and drive for about 90 kms, you will approach Roorkee.
Follow the sign boards to get onto NH 58 and continue driving on this stretch for another 30 kms till you reach Haridwar, get a car check done at the petrol pump on the way, if need be.
Keep driving on NH 58 for about 30 kms till you arrive at Haridwar – halfway point of the journey, you may halt for meals or to freshen up at one of the dhabas and restaurants.
Hit the road again, and take the 3rd exit from the roundabout ahead to get onto NH 74, you will pass by a petrol pump on your right.
Follow the sign boards and stay on NH 74 for the next 50 kms till Najibabad, go through Nagina – Najibabad Road (20 km stretch), and from Nagina, get onto the Dhampur Bypass (25 km stretch).
Keep looking for the sign boards and get back on NH 74, continue for approximately 60 kms, until you pass by Indian Oil petrol pump, take a left turn from here and this brings you onto MDR 49W.
Drive on MDR 49W for another 56 kms before taking a sharp left towards the Mall road, the same Mall Road ascends all the way up to Nainital with sharp turns at hairpin bends, so drive carefully.
This road is full of eateries and food stalls and ideal places to stop at for refreshments include Woodpecker food plaza, Nanak Restaurant and Crossing Café and Restro.
Moving on and get onto NH 87 from Nainital and follow the sign boards to stay on the road, drive for about 28 kms, you will pass by Bhowali Sanitorium and Kainchi Dham, respectively.
Follow the sign boards and take a slight right onto SH 37, drive on for another 32 kms, till you arrive Almora.
