Where to Stay in Bali

There are many hotels in Bali that offer accommodation options for every kind of tourist. Most tourists prefer to stay in the Kuta Beach area, Nusa Dua, Seminyak or Jimbaran. The Kuta Beach and Nusa Dua areas are very well developed as far as hotels and resorts go, but in the Seminyak and Jimbaran area, hotels and resorts are still coming up as they have recently started to attract tourists.

The Kuta beach region is the hub of all nightlife in Bali. Pubs line the street and are open till the wee hours of the morning. It is the ideal place to stay if you want to be in the middle of all the action. If you’re willing to splurge a little then Febri’s Hotel & Spa, Ramada Bintang Bali Resort, Kuta Paradiso Hotel and The Patra Bali Resort & Villas are excellent options for luxury hotels in this area. Another option is the Hard Rock Hotel, it is one of the most fun places to stay, with the biggest pool in Bali, and it offers a number of activities and plenty of places within the hotel where you can eat or enjoy a drink.

Travelers looking for mid-range accommodation in the Kuta Beach area can check into The Bali Dynasty Resort and Bali Kuta Resort by Swiss Belhotel, Harris Kuta Riverview are a few options.

The Kuta Beach area has options for travelers looking for budget accommodation as well. Ida Hotel, Mercure Hotel and The Oasis Kuta, are some options, located right in the heart of this area, providing a comfortable stay without being overtly expensive.

Nusa Dua in the western part of Bali on the other hand does not have much of nightlife but is well known for its golden sand beaches, clear blue waters, luxury resorts and excellent restaurants. Accommodation in this part of Bali is steep but a real treat if you’re looking forward to spending your days in the lap of luxury. Some of the best places to stay here include the Laguna Resort and Spa, Melia Bali Villas and Spa Resort and the Grand Hyatt.

If you’re looking for standard accommodation in the Nusa Dua area, a few options are Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel & Residences, Ayodya Resort Bali and Swiss Grand Bali. Budget accommodation is sparse in this area as most of the hotels are luxury or standard hotels.

Seminyak has recently been developed into a full fledged tourist spot with many Villas and Resorts coming up in the vicinity. Some of the great Luxury resorts and villas in the area are, The Oberoi Resort, The Royal Beach Seminyak and The Legian Bali.

4 star deluxe hotels in this part of Bali are scarce, but you will find many 3 and 2 star budget accommodations. A few options are, Dhyana Pura Beach Resort, Puri Saron Hotel, Bali Agung Village Hotel and Seminyak Paradiso Hotel. These hotels have great locations conveniently and won’t put a strain on your pockets.

Jimbaran is a 10 minute drive from Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport. This area is traditional and was known as the fisherman village and it still maintains its daily activities which attracts many visitors. Because of the increase in tourists in the area quite a few international chains of hotel, resorts and villas are coming up. If its luxury you’re looking for then InterContinental Bali Resort, Four Seasons Resorts and Ayana Resort and Spa (previously known as Ritz Carlton) are great options. If you don’t want to pay the exorbitant prices for luxury hotels and at the same time don’t want to compromise on the comforts then a few options for standard 4 star accommodations are, Keraton Jimbaran Resort, The Shaba Bali and Bali Baliku Luxury Villa.

Budget accommodation options in Jimabaran are few. Villa Balquisse, Sai Segara Resort Villas & Spa, Mimosa Jimbaran and Bali Gardenia Resort are some of the 3 star hotels in the area.
