What to Pack

Carry minimum bare essentials that you can’t do without. The combination backpack and shoulder bags are the best. You should always carry one set of formal clothes that you can wear when going to the embassies for your visas or at the borders to enter a country, and at the airports or docks. It is best to look neat and well to do. For women, modesty is important so you should not wear short skirts or shorts in Muslim areas. In conservative areas do not expose your skin.

Travel Documents

Citizens of Canada, USA, UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand need only their passport to enter Israel, unless the purpose of visit is to study or work. They are issued a tourist visa free of charge at the port of entry as long as the passport is valid for nine months after arrival. The tourist visa is valid for three months but can be extended through any office of the Ministry of the Interior. Citizens of all other nations require visa and passport to visit Israel.
