Food in Luxembourg

Luxembourg cuisine is heavily influenced by its French neighbors and chefs have started to experiment with Nouvelle cuisine. The Ardenne Ham or jambon d’Ardennes as it is locally known continues to be a favourite with the Luxembourger as does crayfish and trout. A variety of cheese is eaten, as are sausages and sauerkraut. A meal is almost always washed down with a bottle of sparkling wine - Moselle.

Eating at gourmet restaurants is normally expensive, but if you grab a meal at one the many brasseries where you can choose a fixed menu, it won’t leave a hole in your pocket.
