The festivals in Genting Highlands represent the different colours of the festive season. The Chinese New Year, Lantern and Mooncake Festival and Christmas are some of the festivals in Genting Highlands that are celebrated with great fanfare.
In January-February, the Chinese New Year is celebrated. It is a two-week festival that involves rituals and customs. In the first three days, all the significant rituals are performed.
Lantern and Mooncake Festival is yet another important festival celebrated by the Chinese population, in the month of September. During the festival, workshops, contests are organised. The key attraction of the festival is the lantern procession. Creatively made and brightly-lit lanterns present a spectacular sight. The lanterns are symbols of cultural significance. This festival is also about enjoying the delectable mooncakes.
Christmas is celebrated in December. The Christians in Genting Highlands celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
