The international gateway and capital city of Sabah (Malaysian Borneo), Kota Kinabalu is set against a backdrop of hills covered in lush greenery while before it stretches the vast expanse of luminescent emerald green waters of the South China Sea.

It is a renowned ‘Nature Resort City’ spread along the coast and into the inland region. Local people also refer to the city as “Api Api”. It is considered to be a popular destination for vacation. It is also one of the top commercial and industrial hubs of East Malaysia.

The city is home to a wide range of resorts, spas, museums, galleries, markets, clubs and theme parks never allowing visitors to run out of things to do. The integral culture is visible in their lifestyle and the surroundings. The city has political significance and is economically given importance as well. The beaches form the main attraction with distinctive flora and fauna co-existing in harmony in this marvellous Malaysian city.

Kota Kinabalu is as modern a city as it can get, just a few miles away from sandy beaches and the towering Mt Kinabalu that watches over the city named after it, this is a wonderful destination if you are looking for a great holiday!

There are a whopping 800 varieties of orchids growing in the Kinabalu Park on Mount Kinabalu!
