| | Eating Out in Langkawi |
|
Langkawi, unlike most of Malaysia, has a predominantly Malay population; being Muslims, they do not eat pork; so you’ll find little pork on Langkawi. What you will find is a stunning range of excellent seafood. You can find restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines- Malay, Chinese, Western, etc as well as fine dining in restaurants in resort/hotel complexes. Stop by at the Rasa Restaurant for great Malaysian food and Little India for authentic North Indian Food - both at Pantai Cenang.
Sample the fried Malaysian bananas and yams or snack on the crunchy oysters, stop for simmering a bowl of soup and noodles or experiment with the grooviest flavours in ice creams. At Temoyong Night Market street food speaks out loud about Langkawi’s local gastronomy. Make sure you don’t miss out on this gastronomic adventure while chalking out your itinerary.
Gone are the days when tourists felt Langkawi is low on entertainment facilities. With bars mushrooming on its Beaches, the island is rich in terms of nightlife. Check out the cafes, bistros and bars at Pantai Cenang where you can socialize with fellow travellers while sipping some local cocktails. Or retreat to Pantai Tengah for a quiet romantic evening fused with the melody of waves.
