Mexico City Travel Guide

Mexico City is an urban miracle, a maddeningly fast-paced and spirited land that is at the heart of all things political, cultural and economic in the country. It is a dazzling city with a cultural heritage that is as rich as it is ancient. It is a fusion of old and new, of ancient relics and modern skyscrapers, of native markets and colonial churches.

Mexico City has the dubious distinction of being the largest city in the world. It is also the oldest continuously inhabited city. Burdened today by traffic, pollution and urban madness, the pace of life can be quite enervating for the newcomer.

Mexico City is the largest city in North America and is built over a river. The city is said to be sinking 6 to 8 inches every year because of the large amounts of water that is pumped out to meet the needs of the growing population!
