Best Time to Visit Kruger National Park

Summer (December to March) has the mercury rising to 40ºC in the day and the nights can be cool at 20º C. The rains also come down in summer with an opportunity for the visitor to see the dramatic thundershowers peculiar to this region of the world. The rains mean a spurt in the growth of grass and plant life and it is often difficult to spot wildlife. Winter, that is June/July onwards till October is perhaps the best time to visit the Park with dry, pleasantly warm days. Many of the watering holes dry up, and animals head for the few that are full, making it easy to spot them.

The admission hours in the Kruger National Park are as follows- From November to February, the park is opened from 5:30am till 6:30pm. In the month of March and October, the park opens at 5:30am and closes at 6:00pm in the evening. In April and again August through September, it remains opened from 6:00am till 6:00pm, whereas from May to July the hours again change from 6:00am till 5:30pm.
