Geneva Travel Guide

Geneva, the very French city is located on the banks of the shimmering waters of Lake Geneva and is the most cosmopolitan of Swiss cities. Geneva is one of the cleanest cities in all of Europe and a stroll around the lake or a boating expedition along scenic routes will envelope you in the city’s natural charm and make you forget that you are in one of the leading economic and political centers of the world.

For a city that is small in size, Geneva is big on international presence. Geneva plays home to the headquarters of the International Red Cross, the United Nations, the ILO as also World Health Organization –people of different nationalities reside in this city, so there is a distinct cosmopolitan feel to it.

So come and fall prey to the charms of Geneva.

Did you know that a chestnut tree in Geneva declares the coming of spring? Yes, since 1819, spring in Geneva begins when the ‘official’ chestnut tree, which is watched by the Sautier (the secretary of parliament in Geneva), bears its first bud on the tree.
