Where to Stay in Tanzania

Tanzania has a wide range of places to stay from very good, luxury hotels to budget hotel accommodation. The islands have resort style accommodation while the parks offer traditional style living in rondavels and huts for travellers on safari. Youth hostels, wildlife lodges, guesthouses, and campsites in the parks are also some interesting options for visitors to try out and experience living in the African bush, first hand.

Wild life lodges inside the park limits offer the ultimate in comfort. Guesthouses cost much less than any other accommodation, are marginally comfortable, and can be rented on a shared basis but prices swing wildly from place to place and season to season. Campsites are available at all the national parks and conservation areas; some offer nothing more than the most basic of amenities while others are more comfortable with basic facilities.

The island of Zanzibar has several hotels catering primarily to group tours.
