Cape Cod Travel Guide

One of the most popular summer holiday destinations on the east coast of the U.S, Cape Cod is a beautiful region with many charming villages and miles of white-sanded beaches. Nantucket, Hyannis, Falmouth and Martha's Vineyard all come to mind when one thinks of the Cape as it is fondly called. Situated in Massachusetts on the north eastern seaboard of the U.S., the Cape Cod Canal separates it from the mainland, turning the erstwhile peninsula into an island. The enormous quantities of cod caught by the fishermen here in the seventeenth century led to the name Cape Cod.

Today Cape Cod is the retreat that everyone heads for if they need to take a break from the city.

Cape Cod is a favorite haunt with pensioners – almost 25% of the population that live in the Cape are retired folk.
