Eating Out in Chicago

The large number of migrant communities in Chicago has made definitive contributions to the food scene in the city -- eating out in this city means you can try out cuisine from all over the world. Places range from the cheap to the pricey, depending on location and ambience. Check out the oriental flavors of Thai cuisine or exotic Vietnamese fare. Burmese and spicy Indian delicacies tickle the palate. The Italian piazza and German sausage provide succor to the more conventional palate. Amidst all this choice of international flavors do not miss out on that all American hearty meal of barbequed ribs! Though restaurants are scattered all over the city, a good concentration of them are in the Loop.

Chicago is a city that celebrates the good times -- be it in the boisterous nightlife venues or the more sedate performing arts centers. From the start, Chicago's nightclubs have been among the best in the country, spawning musical trends such as urban blues, house music and jazz. Bars specially sports bars, pubs, nightclubs, saloons, and dance clubs are spread all over the city and are great places to while away an evening.

Halsted Street has the city’s highest concentration of gay bars and the singles bars are all located in Rush Street. Chicago's ballet, theater and classical music scene are equally vibrant. There are regular world-class performances in the many theaters in the city. For a list of events get hold of a copy of The Chicago Reader or New City, and you will be able to plan your evenings according to your taste.

If you are visiting the Loop area leave your car behind. It is difficult and expensive to park. For out lying areas and the suburbs the car will prove to be very convenient.
