Sightseeing in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip, with its unbelievably spectacular casinos, each one bigger and more flamboyant than the other is a sight to behold. Lose yourself in the grandiose architectural excesses of the casinos ranging from Egyptian pyramids to Roman temples, medieval English castles and many more exotic themes. The gigantic neon signs, each brighter than the other, are spell binding and entice you to visit the casinos.

Once you enter these casinos, day and night cease to have any meaning as you can lose yourself for hours in the varied games on offer. You can choose between slot machines, roulette, race and sport betting, baccarat, blackjack and many more.

Entire cities have been recreated here as giant theme parks such as the New York New York and the Venetian based on Venice. Architectural features from both the cities have been recreated here. Visit Treasure Island, Wet and Wild and Star Trek Experience that are some of the other popular theme parks.

As far as casinos go, the Mirage transports you into the tropical lagoon, where you can watch a volcano spewing fire into the water below. Gamble to your hearts content at Caesars Palace and when you can tear yourself away from the roulette table catch a world-class show by a well-known performer.

Circus Circus has created a circus within the confines of this huge hotel! Trapeze artists, acrobats and fire-eaters perform and this complex also has an indoor water park.

The Excalibur is built to resemble the days of king Arthur. This casino has a mind boggling 2,630 slot machines and the clinking of the machines can drive you crazy!

The splendid pink Flamingo outside tells you that you have arrived at the famous Flamingo Hilton. This is a sprawling resort right in the center of the strip and all its tables are normally jam packed!

The MGM Grand is the second largest casino in the world and is built to resemble Hollywood. This casino offers some of the best cuisine in town. The MGM Grand Adventure theme park is behind the hotel.

Downtown Las Vegas offers the Freemont Street Experience, a unique open-air mesh over 4 blocks, which is covered with millions of light bulbs. At night, there is a dazzling light and sound show here. And if you want to watch a live show, find out who is performing at the Caesar's Palace.

Las Vegas is not just about casinos -- there are some interesting museums here such as the Guinness World of Records museum, the Liberace Museum, Lied Discovery Children's Museum. The Imperial Palace Auto Collection has more than 300 antique cars on display.

Since getting married in Las Vegas is quite a popular practice, there are many wedding chapels here -- the Candlelight Wedding Chapel is one of the most favored ones.
