Festivals and Events in Los Angeles

Festivals and events in Los Angeles can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Visiting in January you can enjoy attending Tournament of Roses and Los Angeles Art Show. This event features a Rose Parade that showcases elaborate floats. Every inch of every float is covered with flowers, leaves, seeds and bark. The breathtaking demonstrations are worth watching.

The Carnival and Mardi Gras Events, African American Festival; Docuday (an annual day-long screening of Oscar nominated documentary films), Oscars and Academy Awards Ceremony can charm you in February and March.

The April month invites you to attend Monterey Park Cherry Blossom Festival, Los Angeles Antiques Market, LA Times Festival of Books, Cowboy Festival, the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, Fiesta Broadway, UCLA American Indian Pow Wow— two-day event of Native American dancers and drummers and Doo Dah Parade and Carnaval Primavera (a Mardi Gras festival).

In May you can attend LA Acoustic Music Festival, LA Modernism (a furniture and design show), Santa Monica Festival and Long Beach Pride Celebration.

You can enjoy Pancakes & Booze art show, LA Film Fest, Playboy Jazz Festival, LA Vegan Beer Fest, Long Beach Bayou, Dog Star Orchestra Festival of Experimental Music, and Mardi Gras Festival during June.

The Malibu Art Festival can be attended in July. Over 300 artists come together for this two-day event which features Children’s Village—artists produce art work out of recycled material; Wine Garden, where you can taste finest wines for free and Dining and Musical Entertainment, which starts in the morning with pancake breakfast.

During August you will be able to attend Beverly Hills Music Festival, Watts Summer Festival, African Marketplace and Cultural Faire, Surf Festival, Long Beach Jazz Festival, Sawdust Art Festival, and Orange International Street Fair.

Los Angeles invites you to the Taste of Beverly Hills Wine & Food Festival, Septemberfest (an American style beer festival), and Balboa Music Festival in September.

If you enjoy celebrating Halloweens then visit during October to scare yourself in the Universal Studios Halloween horror Nights, Disney's Halloween Time, Halloween Masquerades, Fetish Balls and Nightclub Parties.

The colourful and vast Intertribal Marketplace fest and Hollywood Christmas Parade during November and Disneyland Christmas Fantasy, Tournament of Lights, Christmas Boat Parades and fireworks in December will make your trip a memorable one.
