New Orleans Travel Guide

A melting pot of cultures from all over the world, New Orleans, Louisiana, owes a lot of its vivacity and charm to its mixed African, European and Caribbean heritage. New Orleans is not just a city; it is a celebration of the things that make life wonderful. This spirit is best epitomised in the Mardi Gras festival spread over several weeks in March, with its grand parades, eye-catching floats and lively street celebrations. New Orleans also offers some great music -- famous for its jazz, the city is also an important center for blues, zydeco, Cajun and rock. The great variety in music is matched by the substantial range of cuisine on offer in New Orleans -- you can sample Cajun, Creole, French, Spanish and African delicacies.

So come and have loads of fun and revel in the joyous atmosphere of this city.

Bourbon Street is where nightlife is happening! But remember, the street is vclosed for traffic after 7pm, and one can only walk onto the street after then. Lots of "adult" places here with bars and strip clubs being aplenty, so be sure to leave the kids at home!
