Bach Festival in Leipzig is a popular cultural event which is dedicated to the great musician and cantor Johann Sebastian Bach and it is more than hundred years now that the musical tradition of Bach is being followed in the city of Leipzig. The festival showcases performances by internationally acclaimed musicians, orchestral and choral works as well as symphony concerts. The ten day event starting from 7th June till the 17th June is organized by the Bach Archive and the prices of the tickets vary from date to date. This year, in 2016, the Bach Festival will celebrate its 85th Bach Festival of the NBG under the motto 'Bach, Schumann and Brahms'.
Along with Bach, Robert Schmann and Johannes Brahms were the famous music critics and the two leading protagonists of Bach's promotion during the 19th century. All three artists were the initiators of the Bach tradition which even today is celebrated with full energy and enthusiasm!
