This masterpiece is unrivalled in Jordan, but there are literally dozens of other mosaics from the 5th through the 7th centuries, scattered throughout Madaba's churches and homes, and then continue to Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge that is approximately 817 meters (2680 feet) above sea level. The site can be briefly described as a complex of old and new churches at only 2 km east of the sacred River, Jordan River, the drive to Kerak is a city overlooking the Dead Sea and considered as one of the oldest cities in the region. The history of Kerak goes back long before the crusaders; the earliest remains are dated to the iron age, shortly after the exodus, when it was a part of Moab. The castle is one of the three largest castles in the region, the other two being in Syria, and then continues to Petra for Check in & Overnight.

Day 5 Petra - Wadi Rum

Today you will enjoy the visit of one of the new world wonders, the lost city of Petra. Petra the eighth wonder of the ancient world, it is without doubt Jordan's most valuable treasure and the greatest tourist attraction. Petra has been featured in hollywood blockbusters such as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and " The Mummy Returns".

After passing tombs outside the city, you come to the ''Siq'', an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone almost 1200 meters long. This winding fissure separates overhanging cliffs that appear to meet 100 meter overhead near the end of the passage, the Siq makes one last turn with great style, and out of the gloom Petra's most impressive monument Al Khazneh (The Treasury) appears in the towering brightness. One of the most elegant remains of antiquity, out of the, Al Khazneh is nearly 43 meter high and was carved from the mountain’s solid rock in the First Century B.C. Originally used as a Nabataean king’s tomb, scholars believe Al Khazneh was later used as Nabataean temple. Beyond Al Khazneh you are surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra's curved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a curved Nabataean theatre (seating 3,000), large and small houses, burial chambers, banquet halls, water channels and reservoirs, bathes, monumental staircases, cultic installations, markets, arched gates public buildings and paved streets. After the tour, you will be transferred to Wadi Rum for check in and overnight.
